Certifications

Level-1 Yoga Protocol Instructor (YPI)

Requirement/ Eligibility:

  1. For open candidates there is no eligibility criteria.
  2. For admission in the course it is suggested/ desired that the candidate should have passed 10th standard / secondary school certificate from a recognized board or
    equivalent. However, the Yoga Institutions can define their own eligibility.

Brief Role Description:

   Certified Yoga Professionals (Yoga Protocol Instructor) can teach basics of Yoga / common Yoga protocol developed by the Ministry of AYUSH for
    International Day of Yoga for prevention of diseases and promotion of health. They can conduct Yoga practice /classes in parks, societies, RWA etc.

Minimum age: No age limit

Duration of course:

   Not less than 200 hours or not less than 3 month as part time or not less than 1 month as full time course.

Mark Distribution:

          Total Marks: 200 (Theory: 60 + Practical: 140)

Theory Exam

  1. There will be a Theory Exam consisting of MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) which will be followed by a Practical Exam.
    1. The MCQ exam will have 60 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) of 1 mark each. All Questions will be compulsory.
    2. The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
  2. The conversion is made and you need to secure minimum passing or else need to write your theory exam again by depositing the requisite exam fee and taking the exam again at the next available date.
  3. Theory + Practical = 70%. Total out of 200 marks. Candidate should get 140 marks to clear the exam. For Theory 70% i.e., 42 Marks out of 60 Marks and Practicals 70% i.e., 98 Marks out of 140 Marks.

    If you fail to score 70% or more you will need to write your exam again by depositing the requisite exam fee and taking the exam again at the next available date.A panel of 3 examiners shall assess competence of candidates.
  2. Practical for Level 2 will comprise of demonstration and viva-voce.
  3. The conversion is made and you need to secure minimum passing or else need to write your practical exam again by depositing the requisite exam fee and taking the exam again at the next available date.
  4. Theory + Practical = 70%. Total out of 200 marks. Candidate should get 140 marks to clear the exam. For Theory 70% i.e., 42 Marks out of 60 Marks and Practicals 70% i.e., 98 Marks out of 140 Marks.

Note: If you fail to secure minimum required marks in any of theory or practical, you will get one chance to attend once.

Level-2 Yoga Wellness Instructor (YWI)

Requirement/ Eligibility:

  1. For open candidates there is no eligibility criteria
  2. For admission in the course it is suggested that the candidate should have passed 12th standard/ higher secondary school certificate from a recognized board or equivalent. However, the Yoga Institutions can define their own eligibility.

Brief Role Description:

    Certified Yoga Professionals (Yoga Wellness Instructor) to teach Yoga for prevention of illness and promotion of wellness in schools, Yoga studios, work places, Yoga wellness centres/ Primary Health care centres etc.

Minimum age: No age limit

Duration of course: 

 Not less than 400 hours or not less than 6 month as part time or not less than 3 month as full time course.

  2. Practicals will comprise of demonstration and viva-voce and to perform kriyas compulsory.
  3. If you fail to score 70% or more you will need to write your practical exam again by depositing the requisite exam fee and taking the exam again at the next available date.
  4. Theory + Practical = 70%. Total out of 200 marks. Candidate should get 140 marks to clear the exam. For Theory 70% i.e., 42 Marks out of 60 Marks and Practicals 70% i.e., 98 Marks out of 140 Marks.

Level-3 Yoga Teacher & Evaluator (YT&E)

Requirement/ Eligibility:

  1. For open candidates there is no eligibility criteria.
  2. For admission in the course it is suggested/ desired that the candidate should be graduate in any stream from a recognized University or equivalent. However, the
    Yoga Institutions can define their own eligibility.

Brief Role Description:

  Master Trainers in Yoga educational Institutions, Yoga training Courses and training programs. He or she can also act as Evaluator and assessor of Yoga
professionals. Can teach in studios, Institutions, colleges/ universities/ Institutions of higher Learning.

Minimum age: No age limit

Duration of course:

  Not less than 800 hours or not less than 15 month as part time or not less than 9 month as full time course.

Mark Distribution:

        Total Marks: 200 (Theory: 80 + Practical – 120)

    2. The duration of the exam is 1 hour & 30 minutes (1.5 hours).
  2. The conversion is made and you need to secure minimum passing or else need to write your theory exam again by depositing the requisite exam fee and taking the exam again at the next available date.
  3. Theory + Practical = 70%. Total out of 200 marks. Candidate should get 140 marks to clear the exam. For Theory 70% i.e., 56 Marks out of 80 Marks and Practicals 70% i.e., 84 Marks out of 120 Marks.

About the Scheme

  • The Scheme for Voluntary Certification of Yoga Professionals is mentored by Ministry of Ayush & owned by Quality Council of India.
  • This scheme has a set of requirements as criteria against which candidates shall be evaluated in order to being certified as Yoga Professionals.
  • No restriction on age, qualification, training or experience to appear for assessment.
  • Certification is valid a period of 5 years for Level-1 & 3 years for Level-2 and Level-3 and  demands surveillance of certification.
